Within “Moorish Leader’s Historical Message to America”, the Holy Prophet Noble Drew Ali called the American Constitution,”one of the greatest documents of all time”. Reason being, because of religious privileges as American citizens specifically noted in Amendment One.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Because we are a Religious Society, we are self-governing because the European separates Church(Religion) from State and as such, he cannot interfere with our divine way of life. The Holy Prophet Noble Drew Ali instructed us to,”Keep the European out of our business, and we out of his”.
So, this is why the Prophet said that we are a Nation within a Nation(based upon the constitution;ie.see Picture of Prophet in Mexico with Moorish Flag and US Banner). The confusion aspect is in the fact that we are not to overthrow His or Our Government. This is why He told us in Key 34 found within the Questionnaire, that our Ruler is in Morocco.
I’ll try to elaborate:
Definition of Charter:
A charter is the grant of authority or rights, stating that the granter formally recognizes the prerogative of the recipient to exercise the rights specified. It is implicit that the granter retains superiority (or sovereignty), and that the recipient admits a limited (or inferior) status within the relationship, and it is within that sense that charters were historically granted, and that sense is retained in modern usage of the term. Also, charter can simply be a document giving royal permission to start a colony.
The Holy Prophet instructed us that He was the one to issue Charters. Some of these Moorish Leaders have instructed their membership to go to the European state and receive their Charter.
In essence, they have gone back into slavery and now are under the yoke of the European and His jurisdiction. By adhering to what the Holy Prophet Noble Drew Ali established and what he said when he stated,”The Nations of the world will not recognize the Movement(The MSTA/MDNM) without I the Prophet(Sovereign Authority) being Head”, we are then recognized Internationally as Free National Citizens within our Free National Government, The Moorish Science Temple of America. We also, utilize titles such as Sheik, Grand Sheik, etc. within this Body of Politic which removes the confusion with the European Political Construct.
Definition of Islamism:
Islamism (Islam+-ism; Arabic: الاسلامية al-’islāmiyya) also Arabic: إسلام سياسي al-Islām al-Siyāsiyy, lit., “Political Islam”) is a set of ideologies holding that Islam is not only a religion but also a political system; that modern Muslims must return to their roots of their religion, and unite politically.
So, when one is a Grand Sheik of a Temple, he or she is equivalent to a Mayor. When one is a Governor of a Branch Temple, he or she is equivalent to a Governor of that State.
We can cast our free national ballot at the polls because we reside here, but we are to be part and partial to this said Government(The MSTA/MDNM).
If that wasn’t the case, the Prophet would’ve never said,”Moors you are home. The European is 3000 miles away from home and he’s going to have to take some water”.
This is what these renegades, bootleggers, and fakers get wrong by using UCC, strawman, right to travel, the dissolving of birth certificates,etc. to obtain their so-called freedom.
When one proclaims their nationality in this government, those issues have been resolved and have nothing to do with our sovereignty.

Lastly, Many of these renegades that are outside of The Moorish Science Temple of America are responsible for returning his brothers and sisters back into slavery. They have created their groups and made them a 501c3 non-profit corporation, they instructed them to go to the European to get their charters, etc.
This is why the Prophet said,”The streets will be filled with fezzes and turbans”. Then, he turned around and said,”Only a few shall be saved”. Why did he say that? Because there will only be a few that will be adhering to what He established for us.
Exercising my five, this is why he said,”If you try to tell what a person is by looking at him,you are burnt up from the start”. Turbans, Fezzes, El or Bey do not make a Moorish American. Adhering to what the Prophet said does.
In all truth and honesty, the only real Moorish Americans are here in the Prophet’s Grand Body because everyone else has cut themselves off from Home Office and don’t understand what The Holy Prophet Noble Drew Ali established under home rule authority(A lesson that we’ll put together at a later time).
It’s truly a blessing and humbling to recognize this divine and everlasting truth.

From Jail to the Campaign Trail

HIGH POINT – Most observers would say that High Point Mayor Becky Smothers is fairly secure in her job, having held it for all but four years since 1992, and having as yet no declared opponent with any political experience.
But don’t close the book on the 2010 mayoral race yet, as Dwayne Hemingway-El is breathing down her neck. Hemingway-El, 39, a resident of Sunnybrook Street in east High Point, on July 2 filed to run against Smothers.
True, the High Point Police Department, the City of High Point’s attorneys and the federal court system might say that Hemingway-El is more a pain in the city’s neck than he is breathing down Smothers’. Hemingway-El in 2009 filed a brace of lawsuits against the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office, claiming a host of violations of his rights as a result of an August 6, 2007, traffic stop on Kivett Drive in High Point. Hemingway-El’s wife, Cornelia Hemingway-El, in 2009 filed a lawsuit against the Guilford County Tax Department for forcing her to pay taxes – an action that seems well within the mandate of something called “the Guilford County Tax Department.”
The Hemingway-Els claim to be Washitaw Moors, or, more formally, members of the Washitaw Dugdahmoundyah, also known as the Washitaw Moorish Nation and the Washitaw Empire. The group, which is based in Louisiana and headed by a woman called Empress Verdiacee Tiari Washitaw-Turner Goston El-Bey (born Verdiacee Turner), has hundreds of followers in several states. The group adheres to a mutated, absolutist interpretation of common law that its members argue makes them sovereign entities not subject to US or state statutes.
One practical result of that theory, shared by white supremacist and militia groups and recognized by no court, is that the Hemingway-Els and other Washitaw Moors claim not to need state driver’s licenses or license plates, and members of the group have been arrested in several states for operating without them. The Washitaw Empire issues its own license plates and driver’s licenses, which have no legal validity, but which its members regularly present to bemused traffic cops.
Which brings us to August 6, 2007, the day of the traffic stop described in Hemingway-El’s self-prepared complaint, which cites, in addition to the Fourth, Fifth and Ninth amendments to the US Constitution, the 1787 Moroccan Treaty of Peace, the 1790 Sundry Free Moors Act, the Geneva Convention and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (helpfully attached). The complaint is a marvel, full of rococo flourishes you don’t usually see in a legal filing.
Washitaw Moors style themselves as “Noble,” followed by their names, and Hemingway-El identifies himself for the court early in the complaint: “I, Noble Dwayne Hemingway-El, am a natural-born aboriginal/indigenous divine spirit of the Moorish Nation.”
According to Hemingway-El, he became involved with the High Point police after another Washitaw Moor, Noble Freddie Lee Fuller Ali, and his wife were pulled over by police without probable cause. Hemingway-El said police then gave Ali and his wife a citation for operating without North Carolina license plates, then ordered them to remove their “indigenous taggs” [sic] – presumably the bogus tags issued by the Washitaw Empire. Hemingway-El, who Ali contacted by mobile phone, pulled up next to the car during the traffic stop.
Hemingway-El accused police officers of threatening to pepper spray him and pulling him out of his car roughly by his head and neck. “I was hand cuffed [sic], detained and kidnapped me [sic] to be held for ransom (aka) Bail or Bond,” he wrote.
Hemingway-El is asking the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina to grant him $25 million, a full investigation of the High Point Police Department, and the firing of Smothers and the police officers involved in the traffic stop.
That sequence of events seems to lack coherence, but it makes a little more sense once you read the City of High Point’s brief in support of its motion to dismiss Hemingway-El’s suit. That brief rejects Hemingway’s argument on a number of legal grounds, most prominently that, under North Carolina law, the state and municipalities themselves have “sovereign immunity,” making them immune from tort liability when discharging a governmental function.
The city’s brief states that Hemingway-El, when challenged by the police officer, produced an “affidavit right to travel and nationality card” – again, presumably a Washitaw Moor document carrying no legal weight. You can picture the officer’s face when receiving the document.
In addition to the $25 million claim over the traffic stop, Hemingway-El filed suit against the District Attorney’s Office, asking for an award of $1 billion – yes, that’s a “B” – for being prosecuted four times over his “right to travel” – the Washitaw theory that justifies driving without a license or plates.
Cornelia Hemingway-El’s lawsuit against the tax department asks for $2 million, the resignation of Guilford County Tax Director Ben Chavis and an investigation of the Tax Department.
This isn’t the first time police officers in Guilford County have had to deal with the Washitaw Empire. In April, one of its members sued the City of Greensboro for $7 million over a similar traffic stop in which he claimed to not be a US citizen and to have diplomatic immunity as a citizen of the empire. The Greensboro Police Department said he had merely been driving without a license and with an expired license plate.
Similar incidents have been reported in other states involving members of groups claiming sovereign status and exemption from federal and state laws. Those groups include the so-called Republic of Texas and the Montana Republic. In addition to claiming not to need driver’s licenses or license plates, the groups frequently file bogus liens against public officials and corporations – liens that can be dismissed, but only at the cost of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
One Montana case based on a complaint by a member of the Montana Republic generated 21 files full of what a district court judge termed “incomprehensible and frivolous gibberish” before being dismissed.
Hemingway-El’s lawsuit makes amusing reading, and is certainly welcome news to the law firm Smith Moore Leatherwood, which is handling the case for the City of High Point and will get lots of billable hours from it.
The Washitaw Empire’s theological claims seem harmless. The group claims to be descended from the original indigenous people of North America – not one of the historically recognized Native American tribes, but a black group that ethnologists say never existed. The group claims its “empress” is the actual owner of all the 828,800 square miles of land bought by the United States from France in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803 – all of the current states of Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and parts of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Louisiana. It’s a theory US courts are unlikely to embrace with any enthusiasm.
But the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks extremist groups, says there is a darker side to the Washitaw Nation. The center reports that the federal government and several states are investigating the group for possible money laundering and offshore banking fraud, as well as for selling the bogus license plates.
Whatever the truth of the allegations, because of the High Point City Council’s decision several years ago to eliminate primaries for municipal elections, Smothers will face Hemingway-El on the ballot in November. High Point city councilmembers have said they regret making the decision, which also switched High Point elections to even-numbered years, unlike those of other municipalities in North Carolina, in an effort to increase High Point’s dismally low voter turnout.
The decision to eliminate primaries created multiple-candidate general elections in which a City Council candidate, or a mayor, could be elected by only a small plurality of voters. It also created a situation in which less-than-serious candidates aren’t weeded out of the process by the primary. Theoretically, Smothers could face Hemingway-El in a debate, something that would be worth paying good money to see.
Hemingway-El is a member of a group that claims not to possess, or need, US citizenship. But candidates for public office in North Carolina are required to swear under oath that they are US citizens, under penalty of perjury. According to Charlie Collicutt, the deputy director of the Guilford County Board of Elections, Hemingway-El swore that he was.
“He has satisfied the requirements to register and file for office,” Collicutt said. “The law does not have a stipulation to check citizenship.”
Collicutt also said Hemingway-El is a convicted felon, something candidates for office are required to disclose. Collicutt said Hemingway-El was convicted of unlawful possession of ammunition in Essex County, New Jersey, in 2000, but that his voting rights, and thus his eligibility for office, were restored in May 2004.
High Point City Attorney Fred Baggett said he considered the legal reasoning of Hemingway-El and his Washitaw compatriots a mystery.
“It’s hard to believe anyone would be that credulous to think it would hold water,” Baggett said. “Apparently, they do. The only thing that’s not funny is that it takes up public resources and time. But they have a right to file them.”
Smothers is familiar with Hemingway-El, who met with her several times to protest his legal woes.
“I sat down with Mr. Hemingway-El for a lengthy explanation of why he did not have to get a driver’s license, and have had a number of conversations by phone with him since then,” Smothers said. “He apparently thought the mayor had some way to make him exempt from local law enforcement. Nothing could be further from the truth. Neither him, nor anybody else.”
Hemingway-El couldn’t be reached for comment. His campaign manager, Saida Brown, said he is an electrician who was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, and is a veteran of the first Persian Gulf War. She attempted to clarify his citizenship status. “He is a Moorish citizen, but that is not a viable option when you make a filing as a candidate,” she said.
Councilmember Latimer Alexander said he couldn’t understand how someone who claims to be immune from North Carolina law could run for office.
“It’s going to be interesting to hear him justify it,” Alexander said. “He may get the fewest number of votes of anyone who’s ever run for mayor.”
The filing period for High Point municipal races ends July 16. No other candidate has yet filed to run against Smothers, although attorney and former High Point Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Jay Wagner has said he is considering doing so.
