Question, if Marcus Garvey was symbolic to John the Baptist, and Drew Ali would end up being the chosen one (Jesus) to do all the work and disburse the message, why did Garvey’s movement surpass the work of the so called “Holy” Prophet? Thats like John the Baptist outdoing Jesus. If anything, seems like it should be the other way around.

The Prophet as did Jesus, sat in the school of John the Baptist. In this era of time, John the Baptist is Marcus Garvey. A former teacher, Gov. Abdullah M. Bey out of Baltimore, MD. taught that one of his teachers, Bro. T. Booker Bey was a member of the UNIA and was there at the time. He said that he left the UNIA with the Prophet. In the fulfilling of Prophecies, The Holy and Divine Prophet Noble Drew Ali did what Marcus Garvey said that we needed as a people. In Philosophies and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, he stated: 1. that our People Needed a Nationality 2. that we needed a Government to govern ourselves and 3. that we needed to return to our own vine and fig tree as it is written on pg 412,”Must we by your actions deny His goodness and love for us and seek and search for the God of Africa, the Allah most high, noble and Almighty”. These are some of the works of the Prophet. If you have access to the 1924 Convention Minutes of the UNIA, you will read how Garvey viewed the Temple. The UNIA didn’t surpass the Prophet’s movement. It is only due to fulfilling of prophecy. The Prophet said that in the midst of 100,00 members that the movement would dwindle to a handful and only a few shall be saved. Now, we as Moors are striving to unite and build upon the pure and divine pattern that the Prophet established. Unfortunately, just as in the days of Jesus, there aren’t many strong and sincere seekers of truth who love God more than anything else. What members need to understand is that this movement is DIVINE.
I personally had a member who thought that he was leadership material because he was in the Youth Ministry in the Church but yet his character was lacking tremendously. He did drugs, he drank alcohol, he cheated on his wife constantly, he didn’t take care of his many children from different women, he didn’t attend his meetings, he also didn’t pay his dues or taxes to this government. He spent most of his time trying to be a rap artist and not enough time in being a husband, father, and provider. Most of this was hidden from us initially but his wife called me and revealed these things to me. I tried to counsel the brother. I would come by his house to meditate and study with the brother and would find him passed out on the sofa. And even to this day, he blames everyone else for his problems but himself. Presently, like a scorned teenaged ex-girlfriend, he seeks attention by sending text messages and tries to slander the Prophet and His Movement by creating blogs because he attempts to cover up his guilt. But as usual, he is exposed with dirt upon his head. Like the Prophet said in his hadiths,”I brought you something that you cannot tear up, it will tear you up”, and this is what is going on now with this former member.
The Prophet in his da’wah stated,”If you think your condition can be better, then join the Moorish Science Temple of America”. He also stated,”Come learn to love instead of hate”. Our people still haven’t learned to love themselves and they choose to wallow in the dirt and the mud like animals. This is the mental slavery that the Holy Prophet Noble Drew Ali found our people in. As I told this former member,” it is not about membership numbers”. It is about following the plan handed down to us by Allah, through our Ancient Forefathers, by our Prophet. The Prophet warned our people to repent from their sinful ways and in the spirit of Key 60,”We are guarding the holy City of Mecca today, to keep the unbelievers away”. Islam,Bro.Malik El in reading this posting,I have issues with foreign terms of “hadith” and “da’wah”. Surah 10:47 of the Noble Quran states “To every people (was sent) a Messenger” In order for that Messenger to be sent to a nation he had to speak the national language of that particular people.What is the national language of Moorish Americans? Malik El could you show me in Prophet Noble Drew Ali oral statements where he invited ones to speak a foreign language? I humbly await your reply

I will answer your questions but what first troubled me, as a Moorish American Moslem, is the fact that you allowed this brother to question your Prophet as being Holy. I question the fact that you didn’t address this enemy of the Prophet and his insinuating that our Holy and Illustrious Prophet was a failure. Now, what is the root of this issue? Is it that we are doing what the Prophet said on the back of the Questionaire and you are having a problem with it? The Back of our Questionaire which contains Our Authority states,” The Moorish Science Temple of America deriving its power and authority from the Great Koran of Mohammed to propagate the faith and extend the learning and truth of the Great Prophet of ALI in America”.
What does, ”extend the learning” mean? Isn’t English composed of many different languages and terms; ie, terms such as: fiancé’, rendezvous, etc.? Didn’t the Prophet say that we had to take this to the East and uplift our brothers and sisters over there? We are identifying with the whole Islamic world by extending the learning or in other words,” furthering” or “building upon the foundation”. By the way, our ancient forefathers and mothers spoke many languages and one of them being Arabic. Matter of fact, we study many languages in the Grand Body. We study Wolof and Arabic.
Now, I pray that you aren’t the Hashem El that goes by the name Umar Hashem El that refuses to return the Warrant of Authority given to you by the Supreme Grand Sheik? If that is the case, you would be an embezzler of the faith and not worthy of being recognized as a Moor.
Well, I hope this answers your questions. As you can see, we are in the Law and Follow the Prophet in works, words, and deeds.

Yes, the Moorish Science Temple of America is a part of the larger Islamic Community. Our Authority states, The Moorish Science Temple of America deriving its power and authority from the Great Quran of Mohammed to propagate the faith and extend the learning and truth of the Great Prophet Ali in America, to appoint and consecrate missionaries of the Prophet and to establish the Faith of Mohammed in America. We teach the TRUTH of our Prophet Noble Drew Ali and the conduct controllign principles of Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom and Justice to establish the Faith of Mohammad here in America. The faith of Mohammad includes belief in ALLAH, Angels, Prophets, Holy Books, the Divine Decree and the Day of Judgement, which are called the 6 Articles of Faith. These six articles are unifying and universal points for everyone in the larger Islamic community. Just as the unifying and universal principles of Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom and Justice are the unifying principles of our Moorish Nation. The metaphysical truth is teh same in all authentic traditions, although names and dogmatic opinions may vary. So in TRUTH we unite our ancient teachings with the Quran of Mecca as our beloved Prophet instructed us to do as we unfold in the light of Islam, with a knowledge of who we are (higher self and lower self) , where we came from (ALLAH) and where we are going (ALLAH) . WE study Islam from a Moorish perspective regardless of foreign opinion, foreign custom or foreign dogma; becuase we know our connection to ALLAH and our link to the human family through the First Man (Genesis 1:27), not Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:7).
Certainly Allah conferred a benefit upon the believers when He raised among them a Messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His communications and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and the wisdom, although before that they were surely in manifest error. (Quran, 3:164)
